Dating can be exciting, but let’s be honest, it can also be really frustrating.
From dating apps and endless options, to mixed signals, situationships, ghosting, rejection, emotional unavailability, and the pressure to look a certain way, gay dating can sometimes leave us wondering, “Why does this have to be so hard?”
In this connection circle, we’ll create space to talk honestly about the frustrations, disappointments, and challenges that come with dating as a gay man. We’ll explore the patterns we find ourselves caught in, what dating brings up emotionally, and how our past experiences can influence the way we approach connection today.
This isn’t about blaming men, dating apps, or the gay community. It’s about getting curious about our own experiences, learning from one another, and finding ways to approach dating with more self-awareness, authenticity, and hope.
Overview
Gay Men’s Brotherhood Connection Circles are for gay men wanting a safe place to converse and share personal experiences. Connect directly with other members of the community in a small, intimate virtual setting.
The Connection Circles will foster conversation, collaboration and support from your fellow brothers. Our intention for this offering is to create a safe space where we can get to know one another more intimately and alleviate the loneliness and disconnection we see so much in ourselves and our community.
Here’s how the connection circles will work:
We will gather in one large group and the facilitator will review ground rules and offer a topic with some discussion questions. We will then break off into small pods of 3 where you can share personal experiences, insights, ask questions, or provide support to others – just like we do on the Gay Men Going Deeper podcast!
This is perfect for those of you who are too shy to speak up in the large groups during our sharing circles. Smaller groups allow for people to take the time to get to know one another where friendships can form. This is also a great opportunity to connect with people that you might not otherwise connect with because the pods will be assigned randomly.
Unlike our Sharing Circles, there is an expectation to share at this event in the small pods.
